HM Photos has a rich history in Victoria, going back to 1972. For the majority of the time, we have been known as Happy Medium Photos. However, more recently, we changed over to MAK Photos. As we’ve progressed through the pandemic and subsequent lockdown in 2020, we realised that we have a proud history that we want to remember and acknowledge. Hence, we transitioned to HM Photos on the 1st of July, 2020.

Our mission has stayed the same. We aim to provide an enjoyable experience for you in front of the camera. We take pride in creating timeless photographs that you can treasure for a lifetime.

Because of our clients’ consistent support, we have long been one of Melbourne’s leading portraiture and event photography companies.

Our Team

Lynda

Lynda is the director and creative visionary behind HM Photos. Her passion for storytelling and creative portraiture shines through in the fantastic artwork that she creates.

Lynda has been with the HM Team since 2014. She started as one of our best event photographers and quickly progressed through the company. In 2018, Lynda and her partner Luke decided to purchase the business. Since then, she has taken HM Photos to new heights with her ambition and creativity, transforming it into what it is today.

When Lynda isn’t creating beautiful portraits, you’ll find her traveling, at the beach, or with a delicious glass of red wine in her hand.

Dominic

Dominic is our Senior Event Coordinator and Photography extraordinaire. We have had the pleasure of working with Dominic for over 20 years.

In that time, he has coordinated hundreds of gala dinners/balls, sporting club events, and other corporate events. With Dominic looking after your event, you can rest assured you are getting unparalleled service and high-quality imagery to remember the event.

When Dominic isn’t ensuring your event is a success, you’ll find him at an AFL game, watching soccer, or relaxing at the beach.

Bruce

Bruce is our Head School Photographer and Operations Specialist. We’ve had the pleasure of working with Bruce for over 18 years.

Bruce’s creative and friendly personality shines when photographing his subjects. His interest in capturing everyday subjects from a different perspective has led him to explore and experiment with various photography styles throughout his career.

When Bruce isn’t creating wow-factor images, you’ll find him camping, bushwalking, and kayaking.

Nyssa

Nyssa is our exceptional graphic designer and creative photographer. We’ve had the pleasure of working with her since 2018.

In her time with HM Photos, Nyssa’s creativity has shone. Her background in graphic design, web design, and creative execution has been a highly regarded asset to our team

When Nyssa isn’t creating spectacular designs, you’ll find her immersed in nature, at a foodie paradise, or doting on her beloved guinea pig and dog.

Our Studio

Our HM Photos studio is located on the ground floor in bustling Richmond. There is 2-hour free parking within a few minute’s walk and lots of cafes for a delicious meal before or after your shoot.

Our newly decorated studio space is fully equipped for all your photography needs. With both a studio area and a seating area, we can shoot various styles in our studio, including family portraits, creative portraits, headshots, personal branding, fashion, and product photography. We also have a range of backdrop options, including white, black, and a variety of colours.

We have designed our modern and industrial studio with versatility in mind. We have specifically designed the space to transform into a dedicated design studio so our clients can feel relaxed when viewing their images.
